Why Men and Women Pay Different Prices

Men pay $4.99 per week. Women pay $0.99 per week. Every user, regardless of gender, pays something. This isn't arbitrary. It reflects a core principle of how Rove works. The Short Answer Men and women experience dating apps differently. The price difference reflects that reality rather than pretending it doesn't exist. The Longer Answer On traditional dating apps, the gendered experience is dramatically asymmetric: - Men send the majority of the messages. Most don't get responses. - Women receive most of the messages. A large share are low-effort or inappropriate. - The volume for women can be overwhelming. The hit rate for men can be demoralizing. The default solution in the industry is to pretend this asymmetry doesn't exist — charge everyone the same, or charge no one, and let the algorithm sort it out. The result is a worse experience for both sides. Rove takes a different approach. We design for the actual asymmetry: - Men initiate. Taking shots is the active role. Men pay the higher rate because they're using the platform's scarcest resource — the opportunity to open a conversation. - Women choose. Receiving shots, reading them, accepting or declining — this takes emotional work in a different form. Women pay a lower rate because their investment is different in kind, not smaller in value. Both sides pay. Both sides are committed. The difference reflects the different roles, not different worth. Why Everyone Pays Free dating apps have one thing in common: they're full of people who aren't really there. Bots, lurkers, people who downloaded the app on a whim, people who signed up once and never came back. The noise makes everything worse. Rove has no free tier. Every profile you see is someone who pulled out their credit card and decided this was worth the cost of a small coffee. That single filter eliminates the majority of noise. Is This Legal? Yes. Gender-differentiated pricing on dating apps has been legally tested and upheld in multiple jurisdictions because the price reflects a materially different user experience, not discrimination. Several major dating platforms have used similar models. If you're a trans or non-binary user and our pricing feels off, we want to talk. Email help@rovedating.com and we'll work it out. Why Not Just Charge More? We could. We've chosen weekly pricing because it matches the cadence of dating — most people think about their app weekly, not monthly. It also makes canceling painless if Rove isn't working for you. Canceling or Pausing Your Subscription

Rove is a weekly subscription. You can cancel or pause anytime — no phone calls, no forms, no friction. How to Cancel Rove bills through the App Store, so cancellation happens in your iPhone settings: 1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone 2. Tap your name at the top 3. Tap Subscriptions 4. Find Rove Dating in the list 5. Tap Cancel Subscription 6. Confirm That's it. You'll keep access until the end of your current billing week, then the subscription ends automatically. You won't be charged again. What Happens When You Cancel - Your subscription stays active until the end of the current week - After that, you can't send or receive new shots - Existing conversations stay readable but you can't reply - Your profile goes inactive — no one can discover you, but you aren't deleted - Your data is preserved for 90 days in case you come back If you don't resubscribe within 90 days, your account is fully deleted. How to Pause Rove doesn't have a separate "pause" toggle — canceling is how you pause. Your account stays in the preserved state for 90 days, and you can resubscribe at any time during that window to pick up where you left off. If you're traveling, busy, or just need a break, cancel without worry. Your profile and data are waiting when you return. Resubscribing Open Rove, sign in with Apple, and tap to resubscribe. Your profile, matches, and conversations return exactly as you left them — assuming it's been less than 90 days. Why Is This So Easy? Because it should be. Rove works only if you want to be here. If the app isn't serving you right now, leave. If it starts serving you again, come back. Subscription isn't a trap — it's an agreement that can be ended the moment it isn't working. Refund Policy

Rove is billed weekly through the App Store. Because Apple handles the transaction, Apple handles refunds — and they're usually generous. How Refunds Work on the App Store Refund requests go through Apple, not Rove: 1. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com 2. Sign in with your Apple ID 3. Find the Rove Dating charge 4. Tap Report a Problem and choose a reason 5. Submit Apple reviews most requests within 24–48 hours. You'll get an email with their decision. When Refunds Are Typically Granted Apple usually approves refunds for: - Accidental purchases - Unauthorized charges (someone else used your account) - Technical issues that prevented you from using the app - Duplicate charges When Refunds Are Typically Declined Apple usually declines refunds for: - Simply changing your mind after use - Not finding a match - Canceling after the billing period started Weekly pricing keeps the stakes low — if Rove isn't working for you, cancel before the next billing cycle and you won't be charged again. That's the refund mechanism built into the product. When to Contact Rove Instead There are situations where Apple can't help but we can. Reach out to help@rovedating.com if: - You were charged after your account was banned through no clear fault of your own - You believe you were charged while your account was suspended - A technical bug on Rove's end prevented you from using the subscription you paid for - You have a concern Apple isn't equipped to handle We'll review, and if the issue is on our side, we'll work with you to make it right. In most cases this means crediting you for the affected billing period or helping you escalate with Apple. Gender-Based Pricing and Refunds If you're trans or non-binary and our pricing didn't match your experience, we want to hear from you. Email us directly. We handle these case by case with care. The Honest Truth We'd rather have you happy and subscribed than unhappy and refunded. If something about Rove isn't working for you — the pricing, a bug, a bad experience — tell us. We read every message.
