Events & Festival Mode

Rove exists to get you offline. Events and Festival Mode are built around that — they let you use Rove in the places where real connection actually happens. What Event Mode Does Event Mode lets you opt in to a specific real-world gathering — a festival, a conference, a weekend in a new city — and temporarily see other Rove users who are there. When the event ends, the mode ends. You go back to your regular discovery settings, with none of the matches from Event Mode cluttering your feed unless you chose to keep them. How to Use Event Mode 1. Open Rove and go to Settings 2. Tap Event Mode 3. Browse active events, or tap Request an Event if yours isn't listed 4. Opt in to the event you're attending 5. Your profile becomes visible to other attendees for the duration of the event 6. When the event ends, Event Mode turns off automatically You can be in Event Mode and in regular discovery at the same time — Event Mode widens your range, it doesn't replace your normal experience. Festival Mode Festival Mode is a specialized version of Event Mode tuned for multi-day music festivals and large gatherings. It includes: - A dedicated festival feed that prioritizes attendees over regular discovery - Looser location radius — festivals are big, and so is the crowd - Higher shot limits during the festival window, so you can actually take advantage of being there - Time-bound conversations that expire when the event ends unless both sides choose to continue Festival Mode is typically available for partnered events. If you're attending a festival and want Rove on, check Event Mode a few days before you arrive. How to Request an Event If you're going to something that isn't listed — a wedding weekend, a conference, a retreat, a small festival — you can request it. From Settings → Event Mode → Request an Event. Fill in: - Event name and dates - Location - Approximate size - A link to the event's website if there is one We review requests within a day or two. Smaller events may become invite-only gatherings just for requestors and their contacts. Larger events may become full Event Mode listings for all attendees. Why Events Matter Dating apps struggle because most matches never meet. Events solve that by starting from the opposite direction — you're already in the same place at the same time. The app just helps you find the people worth saying hello to. Use Rove at festivals, weddings, conferences, retreats, weekend trips, anywhere a group of people is going to spend real time together. That's where the app is at its best. Etiquette at Events For men: Send a shot if you're interested, but don't treat the event as a numbers game. Respect the limited interaction count — use your shots on the people you actually want to meet. For women: Event Mode will naturally bring more shots than regular use. Decline generously. Accept only the ones you actually want to engage with. For everyone: The goal is to meet at the event, not to trade messages for three days. If there's interest, suggest a time and place. Say hi in person. That's the whole point. Discovery Settings

Discovery Settings Discovery settings control who you see in Rove — and who sees you. Tuning them thoughtfully is how you find the right people, not just more people. All settings live in Settings → Discovery. Search Radius 📍 How far away your potential matches can be. - Range: Nearby to 100+ miles - Disabled when Go Global is on (Go Global overrides distance) Tip: Tight radius in a dense city. Wider radius in rural areas or if you're willing to drive. Adjust: Settings → Discovery → drag the Search Radius slider. Age Range 👥 Set your age window. Rove supports ages 18 to 50+. Why capped at 50+? Rove is designed around the life stage where marriage-minded dating is most active. That said, the 50+ option is open-ended — people 50 and older show fully. Adjust: Settings → Discovery → Age Range sliders. Go Global 🌍 Makes you visible to anyone worldwide who also has Go Global enabled. Your distance filter is ignored while it's on. When to use: - You're open to long-distance or relocating for the right person - You travel frequently - You live in a small market Enable: Settings → Discovery → toggle Go Global on. Travel Mode ✈️ Appear in another city's feed before you arrive. Useful for: - Pre-planning dates in a destination city - Scouting a city you might move to - Festivals and conferences (see also Event Mode) How: 1. Settings → Discovery → toggle Travel Mode on 2. Search for your destination city 3. Start browsing and taking shots Limit: Up to 3 location changes per day — so you're setting intentions, not running simulations. How the Settings Work Together - Local dating: Search Radius + Age Range - Open to long-distance: Go Global + Age Range - Upcoming trip: Travel Mode set to destination + Search Radius - Attending an event: Event Mode, layered on top of any of the above Quick Tips - Thinking about a trip? Turn on Travel Mode a few days before you go. - Want more matches? Widen your radius or enable Go Global before loosening your age range. - Want better matches? Narrow, don't widen. Specificity attracts. Adjust anytime as your goals or life shift. Event Mode

Event Mode 🎸 Some of the best matches come from shared context — being in the same place, at the same time, for the same reason. Event Mode is how you find them before you arrive. How It Works 1. Go to Settings → Discovery 2. Find Event Mode near the top 3. Toggle on any event you're attending 4. You'll now see — and be visible to — other Rove users going to that event Event Mode layers on top of your regular discovery settings. You still see local matches; you just also see the people headed where you're headed. Featured Event: Stagecoach 2026 Stagecoach 2026 — Indio, California, April 2026. The first major festival with Event Mode support. Turn it on a few weeks before the gates open, start conversations with people you'll actually see in person, and make the drive more fun. Other events are added regularly — check the Event Mode list inside the app for what's live. Why Event Mode - Meet before you arrive. Start the conversation now. Show up already knowing someone. - Shared context, instantly. "What are you most excited to see?" is a better opener than "hey." - Make real plans. Coordinate a meet-up during the event instead of hoping to cross paths. - Skip the awkward. A festival is a lot more fun with someone already on your side. Tips for Using Event Mode - Turn it on early. A few weeks before the event gives conversations time to breathe. - Mention the event in your bio. Makes it easy for someone to open with something relevant. - Be specific in your shot. "Saw Morgan Wallen is closing Saturday — that the one you're most excited for?" lands better than a generic hello. - Plan something low-stakes. First meet-ups at events work best when they're a shared moment — a set, a food truck, a pre-show drink — not a sit-down dinner. Event Mode + Other Settings Event Mode works cleanly alongside: - Discovery Settings — your local radius keeps working - Go Global — for events drawing an international crowd - Travel Mode — if you want to start showing up in the host city's feed before travel day Rove's designed for real-world meetings. Event Mode gives you a built-in reason. Related Articles - Discovery Settings — how to tune who you see - The Shot System — how conversations work Questions about Event Mode? help@rovedating.com
